Santa Banta Pvt. Ltd. is a 2016 Bollywood comedy drama film directed by Akashdeep Sabir, produced by Viacom 18 and distributed by Viacom 18 and Cinetek Telefilms.[2] The film features Vir Das, Boman Irani, Lisa Haydon andNeha Dhupia in leading roles.
According to director Akashdeep Sabir, like Spiderman and Superman, the name Santa-Banta is already a brand. The film is fun-filled, based mostly in Fiji and Punjab.[3]
The distribution rights of the film have been sold to [Viacom 18]. Director Akashdeep was quoted saying "It’s very important to have a corporate firm that believes in you. At the end of the day, I don’t have an all-India network for the film’s release. Corporate firms guarantee a good release. Distribution of films is sheer commerce with no creative satisfaction".[3]
Vir Das, who plays a Sardar in Santa-Banta, was quoted saying "The film is being shot in Ludhiana. It’s based on a very sensitive issue so the responsibility was huge, but I enjoyed doing it."[4][5]
